I sure don’t let my missing leg stop me from enjoying life! I love to prove to my canine brother Ringo that I can do anything he can do. I can jump on the furniture, go up and down the stairs and run like the wind! Ringo hates when we wrestle because my missing leg gives me an advantage. I love to contort myself to escape from his clutches! And when it comes to a good game of tug-o-war, watch out! I usually win and I even weigh about 8 pounds less than Ringo. So who says a tripod can’t be a normal dog? I say otherwise!
Hello world!
Hello All! My name is Zippy and I am a proud Tripod dog! I was adopted through Schnauzer Rescue Cincinnati who saved me from certain death at a shelter in West Virginia. When I was found, I still had all four legs but my right leg had been broken and never healed correctly so I was walking with my paw sideways and at a 90 degree angle. My foster Mom and vet decided I would have a better quality of life if my leg was amputated.
I adjusted so easily and fast after my amputation. Maybe it helps that I am young too, not even two yet but I was back to being a regular dog in a matter of weeks after surgery. But sadly, no one was interested in adopting me because of my so-called handicap. But it must have been fate because my “mama” found me on Petfinder and the rest is history!
